New Delhi, July 20: Putting up a brave face even as four MPs deserted him, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav today said his party was united and accused the Left parties of coming together with the BJP to target him.

"We wanted to clarify that the SP is united," Yadav said addressing a press conference.

He said that the MPs who had deserted the party have done so for some ‘vested interests’.

"For example, the Hamirpur MP (Raj Narain Budholiya) wanted to save a contract, that is why he joined the BSP," Yadav alleged.

Hitting out at the Left, the SP chief said, "I am surprised and upset at the Left coming together with the BJP to ensure the fall of the Government".

"The Left and the BJP was earlier trying to make me the Prime Minister. But now the very same Left parties are targeting me," he said.

CHINESE MONKEY LIKELY SUCCEEDING IN MANIPULATING LAWMAKERS TO KILL THE DEAL - ON ORDERS FROM ....?? by DESH PREMI on 20 Jul 2008

The deal is doomed and so is the government," Karat said at a press conference in New Delhi on Sunday. LOOK HOW SUCCESSFUL IS THIS CHINESE MONKEY IN KILLING THE DEAL WITH HELP FROM SO CALLED NATIONALISTS INCLUDING ADVANI, CHANDRA BABU NAIDU ETC. EVEN ADVANI IS UNABLE TO UNDERSTAND CHINESE POLITICS???? OR HIS EGO DOES NOT ALLOW HIM TO THINK BEYOND HIS PERSONAL GAINS????

Advani by narayanee on 21 Jul 2008

Advani is not a decision maker and his house itseif is divided. Vajpayee men must grudge against this Advani's oneupmanship.Even now, I am not a UPA supporter. But this marriage of convenience to soothe the interest of Chinese must be condemned.I just wish, Karat tastes the dust.

no trust vote by pradip on 20 Jul 2008

In the prevailing situation which political party in our unfortunate country can vouch that all their elected members will vote according to the whips they have issued? and can the NDA vouch that all their constituents will go by their official stands and stand by the NDA in the no trust vote? If the wishes were horses our country would have been a different proposition but alas there came the politicians and we have landed this sorry state of affairs! No party is giving any justification for or against the Atomic pact but declaring that they are either anti or pro. The party that actually set this ball rolling- the NDA is opposing it just because it is in the opposition.Dont they have anything like national interest when in politics? But you cannot expect anything better than this from those who showed total apathy to the departed warrior of this unfortunate country Sam Maneckshaw because they were busy organising support for their parties in this political feud!

couldn't agree with you more by Indian on 20 Jul 2008

Couldn't agree with you more Quazi saab. People like you and me can only watch in despair as these buffons make a monkey dance. When british left India, that Mountbatten commented that these indians will never be able to govern themselfves and it's just a matter of time the country goes to the dogs. I am no fan of him but looking into the actions these idiots I can seen where he was coming from.

Not that bad by Srinivas on 21 Jul 2008

This type of political bickerings are very common world wide where british model (west minister?) of governments are in place. Largest democracy is yet to see a Monica lewinsky type episode or a sad Iraqi misadventure. Nuclear issue is a simple issue where main opposition BJP and congress government have very few disagreements. Unfortunately they couldn't bridge that gap. It is a different issue if this government is dislodged based on issues (price rise) common man is facing these days. I don't think Mountbatten is that right. May be he was so harsh because Nehru scre.... his lady. Sorry I had to use a bad word
