Metropolitan Magistrate Madhav Bondre granted bail to all 14 persons on furnishing a surety of Rs 10,000.
Defence lawyers led-by Nagesh Joshi claimed that the accused, arrested late Thursday night, were not hardened criminals and were ready to co-operate with the police investigations.
The prosecution asked for judicial custody as the identification parade by the witnesses was yet to be conducted.
However, Joshi argued it saying there is no need for it and showed readiness to appear for the parade as and when called by the police.
Earlier, the accused were presented in the court amidst tight security. They were remanded to judicial custody in the first session and later granted bail when their bail applications came up for hearing.
However, it is unlikely that the suspects will walk out today itself as it will take time for all of them to produce sureties by evening.
The arrested identified as - Dinesh Bagaitkar, Sudhir Naikwade, Kunal Jadhav, Shobby D'Souza, Ajay Marathe, Vaibhav Marathe, Sandip Panchal, Manoj Panchal, Sandip Shukla, Derek Jadhav, Swapnil Mandare, Siddharth Singh, Amit Kapoor and Ravindra Shukla - have been charged with outraging modesty of women, unlawful assembly, rioting, causing hurt and wrongful restraint.
Thirteen of them were picked up from suburban Vile Parle on a tip off while the fourteenth one surrendered at a police station.
The group of 13 people is said to have been on the Juhu beach, a popular spot for the revellers on New Year's day, after consuming liquor.
The police have already claimed to have verified from the photographs that four of those arrested were involved in the act of molestation.
They have, however, said that apart from the photographic evidence, the police will be relying strongly on the statements given during the parade by the witnesses and circumstantial evidence to nail the accused. The police is also hopeful of getting a statement from victims.
Incidentally, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra had announced earlier in the day that the his government will be pressing for the setting up of a fast-track court to conduct the trial.
The women, hailing from Gujarat and settled in the US, were accompanied by two men when they were groped and molested by a mob of 50 men outside a five-star hotel in suburban Juhu when they had come out after watching a dance performance by actor Bipasha Basu on early hours of Tuesday.
Two photographers from a national English daily, who were passing by, managed to click photographs of the incident, leading to a public outcry.

What was the use of the arrest,,,,?at last this 14 junk of waste were realised...!!is this u called law?will they would have granted bail if it would have hapened to the daughter of netas?"" best solution , hang them in public so that no one dares to misbehave with any girl/lady in future....1
The punishment should be a deterrent to others so that people could run their daily lives without fear and intimidation.
"hang" these men who are not worty to be in india
The purpose of Indian courts (1) overturn all judgements of lower courts (2) Juicy activisam, without any sort of accountability anyone on earth (3) Blame executive for all failiurs (including why millions of cases are pending in court) And finally, whenever a real activisam is needed, turn their back (like this bail)
Severe punishment must be meted out to all the culprits - they seem to forget that their mothers and sisters can also face the same tune elsewhere and from someone else.
i am not happy with the judgement. they should be punished atleast for two days custody than only they may reliase what they have done
These 60/70 garbage quality material should be put in a zoo so that they learn good behaviour from monkeys and chimpanzees.
By granting Bail to these THUGS, the Court has abdicated its Resposibility and Civic duty. These Rascals must be apprehanded immediately. If the perpetraors are Muslims, yhey must be hanged, asap(as per Sharia), If they are Hindus and others, give them 20 years of R.I. snd set them as an example and post their posters in all the street corners of Mumbai. As deterrent to others.
What action will you take on them? Many high profile people were arrested before, for all sorts of unlawful things. Nothing happened. This also will become one of those great Indian rope tricks.
What about Laloo's sons who were involoved in eve teasing same night in Delhi ? Is media paying attention to that case or Laloo will force Police via Sonia to blame the other people instead his sons ..I know Laloo's sons will be free instead the people who beat Lalloo's sons will be put under some case.
Though I would like to say that the entire episode should not have happened in a country like India where all are claiming that women are being given respect. But I am not able to say also another truth that one has to learn from the experiences. Since last year another incident of this kind happened during the new year celebrations, that too in Mumbai itself, why the responsible law and order people did not take necessary steps to avoid any such untoward and anti-social incidents? Moreover, it is not understood how females could have gone outside during that time, that too during new year celebrations which involves a lot of liquor parties.
Shame on you too Dileep. What do you mean how females could go outside at that time? Its new years. We are a free country. Dont we have the right to be able to step out safely on a busy road such as Juhu Tara Rd at 1:45 am on New Year eve? Are you blaming those women? Then really, shame on you!!
I think you have mistaken me, Mr. Rajan. I am not a male dominated person to say that only males can have the right to be able to step out safely and not females! When we discuss something, please try to use good terms and words. You should not call someone "shameless" whom you do not know personally. Now, let me explain. It is true that all people, both males and females, should be in a position to enjoy their life. But as far as right to step out safely ona busy road is concerned, it is alright for females to go out on any time - day or night, but not during the new year day! I hope you are well aware of the atmosphere during the new year celebrations especially in night time. Most of the people on road enjoying the event might be taken liquor and they take the occasion granted for celebration in whatever ways they like. If enough security is provided, if adequate necessary steps are taken by the law
The seantance framing of the report is very bad. It seems to be very confusing.
Is police is relasing its duty only after Media interference, I dont understand whats wrong with mubai police. A time was there where Mumbai Police was Ranked Second in world after the Scottland Police according to my knowledge but now Mumbai police is Performing worse. Regarding those 14 people who have been arreasted should be given a Strict Punishment who ever will be found Guilty. For Media my Comment would be Media is acting really Helpful for Comman People Celeberities apart.Really THANKFUL TO MEDIA
Kudos to the Home Minister, Mr. R. R. Patil, for setting a `thief’ to catch a `thief’. The Sr. Police Inspector, Mr. Deepak Katkade who is entrusted with `Juhu groping case’ was recently found guilty of dereliction of duty at Bandra P.S for shielding robbers (Mumbai Mirror July 6, 2007 – Page No. 7). While appreciating the Minister for the new technique, let us pray that justice somehow comes.
A sever punishment should be given and it should be visible to the masses so that such type of incidents don't happen again.
Use 3rd Degree with them..
