Islamabad President Asif Ali Zardari has said Pakistan is determined to uncover the ‘full facts’ behind the Mumbai attacks and needs India's cooperation for the trial of any suspects linked to the terror strikes.

Zardari, during a meeting with visiting British Foreign Secretary David Miliband at the Presidency here late last night, said an elite Pakistani counter-terror team is conducting a probe into the Mumbai incident.

There was no official word on the meeting though TV channels quoted sources as saying that Zardari told Miliband that Pakistan is determined to uncover the full facts about the Mumbai attacks.

India's cooperation is needed for the proper trial of any suspects and that is why Pakistan wanted a joint probe to be conducted by the two countries, Zardari reportedly said.

The President echoed comments made yesterday by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, who said full cooperation by India is necessary to ensure proper trial of any suspects.

Gilani also said Pakistan is serious about prosecuting suspects in the Mumbai attacks in accordance with its own laws in a transparent trial.

PAKISTAN'S FLIP-- FLOPS by suri on 17 Jan 2009

Asif Zardari says one thing, Yusuf Gilani says another thing and their foreign minister Mehmood Qureshi contradicts them both. This is what Pakistan has been doing since 26/11. Their Army Chief in turn indulges in sabre-rattling and the ISI is making everyone dance to its tune. They blackmail the international community with their 'so-called nuclear status'. Who will believe them and who is in control of Pakistan? The mullahs of Waziristan aided and abetted by the Taliban are creating anarchy in the NWFP. This fire will slowly engulf their whole country. Their military chiefs should be shown their place and democracy should be given a chance to survive. They needn't be apprehensive of India if they stop meddling in Kashmir and elsewhere. Right-minded Pakistanis like Asma Jehangir and Ansar Burney should create public opinion to take on these fundamentalists and save Pakistan from further ruin.

Zardari, and Gilani could not accept Kasab being a pakistani, leave aside full Facts?? by gary on 17 Jan 2009

Pakistani "State Actors" are always successful in blackmailing world community and minting billions every year in the name of fighting terrorism. so called "Mr Ten percent" has been successful to become the real boss. Pakistani leaders are buying time so as to deflect the attention from mumbai carnage to something else. PM Gilani could not digest the fact that kasab is a pakistani and fired his NSA, for speaking the truth. How can you expect any facts from Mr Ten percent and Gilani who are trying to beat each other on the "Domestic Stage"?

India should have most advanced spy agency by vicky on 17 Jan 2009

The fact the pakistan has been indulged in anti-india activitise from the time of independence, and there whole system is based on anti- india system. It would be interesting to see how pakistan behaves right now, I mean would they really walk there talk this time??...Second here this time in case of britain, we have to remeber that its the same nation, which for its own geopolitical interset once, before 6 decades , divide india , into india and pakistan. So it would also be watch full that would this govt. destroy there geopolitical equation, which has been inacted through decades

Mumbai attacks: Zardari vows to uncover 'full facts' by Derek on 17 Jan 2009

Zardari is only going through the motions without any results just o show the world that he is taking action. He cannot solve the murder of his wife, so what are the chances of him solving the Mumbai attacks? After all the attacks originated in his country with the consent of the ISI and th government and i Dont think he will be alloowed to prosecut those who were behind the attacks.
