Dubai An Indian club in Oman is organizing a tribute to the legendary Ghazal singer Jagjit Singh later this week in which Jaswinder Singh, a prominent singer, will croon choicest of his numbers.

Jaswinder was named 'The Young Ghazal Maestro' by Indian Music Academy. Also specialising in Sufi, he is the son and student of legendary composer Kuldip Singh.

The Indian Social Club said that the evening will showcase the repertoire established by Jagjit in all the genres he excelled in.

Jagjit's death in October 2011 has been a major loss for music lovers and this concert is being organised as a tribute to the memory of this illustrious singer.

Credited with popularising the Ghazal genre and making it accessible to the masses, Jagjit cut more than 40 private albums and sang for many Bollywood films.
