Pink Chaddi

Udupi (Karnataka) Irked by 'pink chaddi' campaign against him following his threat to disrupt Valentine's Day celebrations, Sri Ram Sene leader Pramod Muthalik has said he would soon sue the rights activists behind it.

Terming the action of protesters as a ‘perverted act’, Muthalik told reporters here that a 25-member advocates team comprising women has been formed to file defamation cases against the senders of ‘panties parcel’.

Rights activists across the country had despatched ‘pink chaddi’ consignments addressed to Muthalik at his Hubli headquarters on February 14, when the right wing Sene leader was cooling his heels in a Gulbarga jail following his arrest.

In all the Sene chief received 1,500 pink panties.

Muthalik claimed that the outfit's tirade against pub culture and Valentine's Day has brought it into focus. Demands have been to open Sene's branches outside Karnataka, he said.

Muthalik, whose men by attacking women at a Mangalore pub on January 24 had sparked nationwide protests, said yesterday that the Sene would not take law into its hands and peacefully protest against pub culture.

chaddi campaign by harsha on 27 Feb 2009

sending chaddi to anybody is not against the law and constitution. beating somebody is definitely against it. and how you can have a faith in constitution which cannot protect u from taliban minded goons of ram sene?

Good for hand to mouth! by Hassan on 08 Mar 2009

Ban RAM SENA and also put the CEO and Executives of the MNC running CHADDI CAMPAIGN in JAIL. by Indian on 23 Feb 2009

It is strange that the same people who question how Muthalik can take law into hands by attacking some one are themselves engaged in hate campaigning. Have these people lost faith in India and Indian Constitution that they can't have patience to punish the guilty through law and themselves become judges. If the act of Ram Sena is Talibanisation, similarly the pink chaddi campaign is also a creation of Talibani mindset which believes that you can react on your own turms by subverting law and constitution. I would hope that the next government bans RAM SENA and puts the CEO and Executives of the MNC running CHADDI CAMPAIGN in JAIL.

whats wrong in chaddi campaign by harsha on 27 Feb 2009

Ban extremists aping al-qaida. by Bhupi on 23 Feb 2009

When thieves steal, then the police catches them, and likewise, the 'pink chaddi'was a positive reaction to a taliban like mindset of Muthalik and his religious police.

Muthalik's followers behave like demons, but they want their own sisters and mothers to behave like Sita Mata. by Nautankee on 23 Feb 2009

Sir, the kind of comments given on this article suggest, that we Hindu's do have to do some spring cleaning to stop religious police and their tali like followers. These followers can only come from broken homes. The impressions given by pro Muthalik supporters seems to suggest, that these persons do not have faith in their own mothers and sisters, because they themselves behave like the rakhshas (demons) but they want their sisters and mother´s to behave like Sita. These persons should be by force sent to achieve better education so that they would not convert as al-qaida followers.

Yes, Its a good idea ! by Thomas Varghese on 23 Feb 2009

Oh Yes, its a good idea; provided you send your mother and sister too, to collect it. We cannot let our women to go for that. Will you??

Muthalik should be sued instead by Nautankee on 23 Feb 2009

How dare this Muthalik even think to sue 'pink chaddi' campaigners, because it is on the contrary him who should be sued for violating personal freedom. What if someone stops Muthalik's sister, mother or his wife on the streets?

exchange for votes by Karsevak on 23 Feb 2009

Mutalik can wear them in public for the BJP election campaign in Karnatak or give them in exchange for votes to BJP

HELL WITH THE FREE CULTURE PROTOGANISTS.... HELL WITH PUB CULTURE by Ravi on 23 Feb 2009

THATS a good decision by MUTHALIKJI of SRI RAM SENE. These so called votaries of FREE CULTURE and PUB CULTURE should be shown their place at any cost. They are into destroying the Indian culture as per the dictates of western christian world. Who minds if these people go to pub ? Let their Wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother GO TO PUB and DANCE IN NUDE..WHO CARES ........BUT LET THEM NOT ASK OTHER"S sisters, daughters and mothers to DO THE SAME...WHO THE HELL THESE PEOPLE ARE TO SEND SRI RAMA SENE PINK CHADDIS? IS THIS THEIR CULTURE? UNDERWEAR CULTURE IS NOT INDIAN CULTURE ......ITS A CULTURE OF WEST...... WHO THESE PEOPLE TO ASK MUTHALIKJI TO SELL THE CHADDIS ? ARE THEY NOT ASHAMED? INSTEAD COLLECT THE CHADDIS FOR THEIR MOTHER, SISTER AND DAUGHTERS ......AND DANCE IN PUBLIC.....HELL WITH THE FREE CULTURE PROTOGANISTS.... HELL WITH PUB CULTURE >>>JAI SRI RAMA SENE>>>>> CARRY ON GOOD WORKS>IGNORE PEOPLE OF PUB CULTURE

ram sene and Ravi shoul wear Chaddis on their faces by jas on 23 Feb 2009

Ravi I totally agree with you that people should not be asking your hero, Mr Monkey Muthalik to sell the Chaddis. I think I have a better idea. Mr Muthalik and his supporters like you should wear those pink chaddis on your faces while molesting the pub going girls. Then no body can recoganize you as your ugly faces will be behind Chaddis.

Go ahead by Satish Haldankar on 23 Feb 2009

Yes, he file a suit also in the International Court of Justice, also complain to UNO and what have you. This year movement by the common citizens to oppose the self-appointed mnoral policemen started in a small way and it is going to pick up steam in the future. The Government and the Police have shown complete impotency to crack down on these goonda elements, who profess to be upholders of Indian culture.

Great!! by Vedic Indian on 22 Feb 2009

So the talibani who did not give a hoot to the law by sending his holy warriors to shamelessly assult people now wants the same law to protect him. Well..can you expect anything better from these morons!!

Mr. Ravi seems to be well educated, his opinion changed the moment he saw an Minority Guy on This forum. Shame on your Mr. Ravi for bringing religion in the matter of democracy. Ofcourse you can also utilize your rights for free speech but you should do it without hurting other indians emotions

Renuka-Get this sick monkey off your back by Jas on 22 Feb 2009

It has already been established beyond any doubt that Mr.Monkey Muthalik can not use his brain. The fact that he could not come up with any useful application of all those free women underwears, further strengthens the proof of his non-functional brain. The fact, that he is unmarried as Ms Renuka told me the other day, tells me that brain may not be the only part of his body that is non-functional. The poor guy is making virtue out of necessity of his god-gifted brahamcharya. I think this character deserves to be pitied more than hated for his wretched existence. If Ms Renuka wants this monkey off her back she should get him some good medical help, under her welfare of women program. Then Monkey Muthalik won’t be on her back, he would know where to be. Then he can also give all those sexy chuddies as gifts to his future girlfriends, especially on Valentine days. But until then, he can wear them on his face to spare the world of an ugly site.

Muthalik's insecure "men" by Paneer Sarkar on 22 Feb 2009

Why don't you just come out and say that Muthalik and his "men" are cowards for attacking women ? Call a spade a spade, please.

Sene Defeated and lost face by Patriot on 22 Feb 2009

Now that he is defeated, he's wimpering about laws. Where was all this "peaceful protest" talk when he beat up those girls in mangalore? He must definitely be smoking something stronger than tobacco if he thinks he could win any such case. What can he accuse anyone of, and who are the defaming and with what false message? There are thousands of people willing to defend the pink Chaddi senders. I say lets send him some more chaddies.

Condemnable act of the so called Rightist activist by Robert on 22 Feb 2009

The reward sent tor the man who wanted to clean the society is ridiculous. Supporting such acts by the so called right supprters need to be condemned equally. No double standards. Just imagine what hell would have fallen if sending of pink panties is done by the Ram sena?

Justice for Muthalik by Raj on 22 Feb 2009

why he did not go to court againt the pubs? Is court fo the proctection of gundas like him? Use chaddis should have been sent to him. If he believes in the law, he should have gone tothe court instead of taking law in his hands. The right place for him is a mental hospital.

Pink Chaddi Culturer by Jayesh Mahajan on 22 Feb 2009

It is in the intrest of the women wearing the pink Chaddi culture that they restrain the new culture as they feel should be in this country. To be modern does not mean to be vulger. The Chaddi logo for the campain also suggest the boundries of their thaught.India needs Durgas and not the one who behave as Shurpanakas. They neen some social decipline. All people staying here are not that modern. We suggest that Indian Government allots two Ilands for all westernised celibrations. It should be like Los Vegas. Every thing allowed there. Then we shall judge how much secured is the life there. So Behave like Gentelmen and Great womens. Be Intlectuels not just center of attrections.

'rights' activities and human rights activists a curse for the country by ramesh k on 22 Feb 2009

If the pub attack organized by any other group other than 'Sri Ram Sena' it would have attracted all support from all this socalled 'rights activists', including Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhter, Brinda Karat etc. etc. However, any natiionalist compaign if organized by Hindu group it would be unacceptable! What a double standard and pseudo-secular pseudo-rights activists. It is the same 'activists' who take to the street when a terrorist is killed, but not tears if hundreds of innocent civilians are by terrorist attacks!

Muthalik complaining about good recvd. by Mahesh Naik on 22 Feb 2009

surely he can complain , but only for the right issue at hand.He is entitled to ask the senders for a proper fitting size instead of the odd size assignments he might have got.

IN THE 1ST PLACE WHO GAVE THIS GUY THE AUTHORITY AND PERMISSION FOR MORAL POLICING. IF HE HAS KEEDA IN HIS ARSE LET HIM HAVE IT REMOVED BY HIS FAMILY MEMBERS RATHER FORCING HIMSELF UPON THE PUBLIC. IF WE DRINK WE DO SO AT OUR COST. HE IS A USELESS FELLOW NOTHING TO DO AND HENCE INTERFERING WHO MUST DO WHAT. FOR THAT WE HAVE OUR PARENTS. PLEASE DARE NOT INTERFERE WHAT WE SHOUL BE DOING IT IS OUR FREEDOM. The liberals had it coming by vijay on 22 Feb 2009

Good way. The liberals have to learn a thing from muthalik. Instead of retaliating with violence or vulgarity muthalik has chosen the right way of using legal recourse. He is a quick learner. I hope he continues his moral policing by legal means instead of resorting to violence. We need a moral police to prevent hedonism and rampant immoral behavior in our society
