Karachi Meera, who is all set to make a comeback after a two-year sabbatical from films, has said that she no longer wants to be associated with Lollywood.

According to Dawn.com, she insisted that it took her time to realise what people around her were like.

“But I’ve done a lot of growing up in the past two years,” she spoke exclusively to Images on Sunday.

“I emotionally, mentally and physically live in another world. It’s the world of cinema. I romance characters and live in character. I now realise that that is not real life. I have come out of that bubble and I don’t want to work in this industry anymore,” she said.

She asserted that she is working on a new image for herself.

“Four days ago, I decided to leave the film industry. I have returned Rs 5 million which were given to me in advance for upcoming projects,” the Express Tribune quoted her as saying.

“I no longer want to be associated with Lollywood. I am working on a new image for myself and planning a production with people from outside the Lollywood circle,” she added.

After spending the better part of these two years in America, Meera has dived straight into her own project, her first feature film, for which she has been doing extensive foundation in Los Angeles, Bangladesh and India.

Meera is producing it herself and is open to the idea of bringing a well-known director on board to make sure that there are no flaws in the production. Nothing is confirmed except that she knows she wants Ali Zafar, Shaan, Rekha and Raj Babbar in the cast.
