ND Heroes in final

New Delhi, January 18 New Delhi Heroes maintained their unbeaten streak to enter the final of the SAIL-ONGC DSA Senior Division Football League Championships.

In the final to be played on Monday, they will take on Indian National FC. In the semi-final at the BR Ambedkar stadium today, Nigerian forward Tunde scored twice to help his team beat Peerless-Tarun Sangha 4-2.

It was Tarun Sangha who took the lead in the 20th minute, when Charles Egmor managed to convert a cross from the right by Srikanto Das. But New Delhi Heroes equalised soon through Gyan.

In the second half, Tunde increased the Heroes’ lead to 2-1 in the 47th minute and later struck the fourth goal for his team in the 65th minute. Meanwhile, in the 62nd minute, Harvinder Singh had scored the third one for his team.

Tarun Sangha managed to pull one back when Egmore converted a penalty in the 83rd minute. The match was marred by numerous infringements. Jaggi was given marching orders while Bhuvan, Heroes dependable winger, also saw two yellow cards and had to leave the field.
