Patna The NDA will win about 170 of the total 243 seats in the Bihar Assembly elections and form the government once again under Nitish Kumar, state BJP president C P Thakur claimed today.

"The increase in the polling percentage reflected the people's acknowledgment of the developmental work under the NDA during the past five years," he told reporters here.

The people, Thakur said, were for giving another term to Nitish Kumar and his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi to help Bihar emerge as the most developed state in India by 2015.

The sixth and last phase of the Bihar assembly elections in 26 seats were held today. The counting of votes will take place on November 24.

NDA to win around 170 seats : BJP by N.V.SANKARAN on 21 Nov 2010

Good for NDA, especially for Nitish Kumar. But, the BJP should be on their guard since with such a landslide victory for NDA, Nitish Kumar may decide to dump the "communal" party, now that he has firmly established himself.

biharpolling by aniltyagi on 21 Nov 2010

a political leader like Thakur can give more than 170 seats.if so happened it will be a new trend of voter pro govt.trend without any sympathy wve. if fact about 10%increased polling will go against govt.of Nitish kumar if it is not a fabricated or captured polling it is clearthat lallu is not coming as he needs more than 62%polling.in bihar upto now about 52%polling was in 1967&1977 in both the ruling party was defeated same will be in this election proving the post poll surveys bogus.as i observed and surveyd my own JDU WILL GET 105 LALLU 70 CONGRESS 40 Remaing 20 may play important roll in formation of govt.after3 days all will be in black and white

No more division of Bihar in Y/M line. by Veer on 21 Nov 2010

This is the best thing that can happen to a state, suffered so much. Caste and religion divide created mistrust on fellow citizens and slowly but steadily Bihar was pulled down to Nadir. Lalu is the main artiste to destroy Bihar. Firstly by inducting all criminals to his party, then by dividing Yadav and Muslims from mainstream, creating Backword, Forward riots and even instigating Hindu-Muslim annual tensions Bihar was destroyed. Loot of Public money and total neglect to education and infrastructure made Bihar an example of corruption of highest order. Thank God, now the people of Bihar and that include Lalu's Y and M are supporting a progressive government under Shri Nitish Kumar. I hope Bihar will now come up fast under his good governance.

So much for confidence.... by Roy on 21 Nov 2010

the ruling alliance have already won seats.... the government is up & running...lets hope they do if it was indeed Bihar Shining. Hope fully we'd have our right wing empathizers gloating about the outcome...the pro Congress supporters will however not slink away but still around in these columns.

Beware!! by Seetharam on 21 Nov 2010

Beware. Election commission is not as independent as it used to be. CEC (Navin Chawla)is patronised by Congress. Previous CEC clearly indicated that Navin is not suitable for the job as he was corrupt. Congress & its nominee Pratiba Patil saved him. Now it is Navin's time to repay his debts to his masters
