New York An Indian on the run after allegedly gunning down his estranged wife and another person in a New Jersey church has been arrested after a nationwide alert. Joseph ‘Sanish’ Pallipurath was arrested around midnight last night in Monroe, east of Atlanta, after New Jersey police had sounded a country wide alert for him, the district US Marshal James Plousis said.

27 year-old Pallipurath had drove across US on Sunday from California to New Jersey, to persuade his wife Reshma James, 24, to return to him and then shot her when she spurned him.

He was on run after the shooting in which another man Dennis John Mallosseril,23, who maintained the church's Web site, was also killed when he attempted to intervene between the couple, eyewitnesses said.

A third person, James' cousin, Silvy Perincheril,47, who was shot in the head remains in critical condition. The couple had an arranged marriage just a year ago and James had suffered abuse right from the initial days of her marriage in Kerala, which continued here, the police had said.

Recently, James had left her husband and moved in with a relative in New Jersey. She had also taken out a restraining order against Pallipurath, prosecutors said.

Pallipurath allegedly shot and killed Reshma James inside the St Thomas Syrian Orthodox Knanaya Church in Clifton, New Jersey.

As the news of the shoot out spread, in California the suspects father Mathai Pallipurath had issued a plea to him to surrender.

Moral Indians by Simon Bhatiya on 26 Nov 2008

Mr. Raj is completely wrong. Mr. Nicolas Rathod who hails from Ahmedabad has been selected by Obama for his administration. Who gave you the right to judge anybody for moral? Do you think all the Christians are immoral and others are all moral? In my 27 years stay in US, this is the only capital crime commited by Christian I have ever known. There are tonnes of incidents of crimes committed by follower of other religions. So don't you dare to call anybody immoral.

Children need guidance, not judgement by Jayadevan on 25 Nov 2008

Raj, when I was very young and would utter bad words without knowing their meaning, my mother would tell me to go wash my mouth with soap,. I feel you need to do the same. Dikra, Bhagwaan tane sadbuddhi aape. Ane taru bhalu kare.

Immoral Christians by RAJ MK on 25 Nov 2008

Keralite Christians constitutes more than 25% of total NRI's in US, however, not even a single Christian was slected among more than 15 People of Indian origina selected by Obama. This clearly shows the moral and intellectual level of these people

Christians In US by Simon on 26 Nov 2008

Ignorant comments... by JJ on 26 Nov 2008

RAJ MK, what weird logic are you stating here to prove some stupid point? Are you going to base the entire world's morality on actions taken by Obama? What a benchmark! Don't use this forum to propagate your personal hatred.

Rubbish!! by MKT on 25 Nov 2008

RAJ MK is full of hate, why else would he have such an ignorant remark against another religion? Neither does he ahve proper facts. There are only 20% Christians even in Kerala, yet you state that they are 25% of all NRIs in U.S.? Where do you get these "facts" from? Obama's selection reflects the majority or Indians that are involved with politics within his party.
