London, July 20: A prominent Indian-origin businessman, who set up a series of shops in Lancaster in north England after his arrival in the 1950s, has died in a road accident.

Amritsar-born Sadhu Singh (75) owned a fashion stall in the Lancaster market for more than 30 years and also ran family shops in Morecambe and Barrow.

Floral tributes adorn the lamp-posts close to the spot, where he died yesterday, including a touching message from his widow reading, "How can I carry on now that you have left me?"

He leaves behind five sons, 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

In a statement, his family said, "Dad was an amazingly hard worker who did everything he could to help his family. He was a very popular man who loved to keep busy.

"Everyone who knew him called him Mr Singh. Despite being in his 70s he never slowed down and his death has been a surprise for us all. He will be sadly missed."

I salute this Indian-- Dr K A Rokade-Ugly role model for NHS!! by KTVReddy on 20 Jul 2008

Formula by Dr K A Rokade!!How to drive legally in UK without ever worrying penalty or points. An amazing revelation today, One of unscrupulous Dr K A Rokade from midland known to have coned DVLA on several counts by driving fradulanatly with Valid License which can’t be endorsed or no point can be given inspire of several driving convictions! How it works? This is secret formula tried and tested since 1999 by Dr Kirti Rokade from midland! This is secret formula tried and tested since 1999! You are right that, as most of us know, IDP (International Driving Permit)is valid for initial one year when you come to UK. However, there is clever way to play around it, if you want to! IDP can be renewed every year, if you are away from UK for more than 21 days continuously, in a year. Means go to India every year for 21 days and you can get new IDP! I know few people who do this since many years as they are not bothered to pass UK test. And good thing about it is that, even if you get caught speeding, they can fine you... but can’t endorse points! And there is no record of minor offences related to and there is no record of minor offences related to your driving! So normal clean CRB in spite of many convictions like Drink Driving or Driving Convictions Vow what a novel innovative way to speed/drink drive/dangerously drive and not getting any penalty!!There is lot of difference between having "a valid IDP” and that "IDP being valid here”. It is another thing that most of the traffic cops do not know this fine distinction unless they are familiar with and are experts on rules rag IDP(International Driving Permit):-),even one can cone Insurance Companies and can claim money for car crash-Even car was written off but still No records with DVLA!!
