Singapore, October 10: Regretting Tatas' pulling out the small car project from West Bengal, Singapore's Mentor Minister Lee Kuan Yew said the ‘Nano car saga epitomises India's problems.’

"It is sad that the Nano project could not go through in West Bengal even after it had the approval of state's Chief Minister Budhdhadeb Bhattacharjee," Lee said at a special function held on the sidelines of the Pravasi Bharati Diwas in Singapore.

"If you don't accept development, you would never develop," he said.

He also said that a hardheaded analysis was needed over this issue.

The Tatas announced on October 7 that they were shifting their 1-lakh Nano car project to Sanad near Ahmedabad after a controversial stay in Singur in West Bengal.

It is indeed very sad that Nano had to pull out of bengal. What is even more tragic is that people living in the state do not have a voice.
