Chandigarh, February 25 The Necklace of Authority controversy continues to dodge the MC councillors. During an interaction with the Gloucester Mayor Harjit Gill, the councillors noticed a necklace.

Gill was wearing the necklace as a symbol of being the first citizen of Gloucester. The councillors pointed out that their proposal of having a similar necklace for the Mayor did not materialise due to criticism and controversy. A number of councillors also asked the Glocuster Mayor about the significance of the necklace.

Nominated councillor Brigadier Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri (retd) and some other councillors had proposed a necklace of authority for the Mayor of the Chandigarh MC last year. The proposal was criticised by councillors and was later abandoned.
