The 20-member delegation wanted to have an interaction with PAU scientists on research-extension linkage, and transfer of technology mechanism of the university. They held discussion with Dr SP Mehra, Additional Director of Extension Education.
The delegation talked about the possibilities wherein their agriculture can benefit from the Punjab experience. Dr Mehra told the delegation that PAU has an age-old relationship with Nepal, from where a large number of students have taken admission here for their graduate and postgraduate degrees.
He explained to the delegates the programmes of transfer of technology, wherein farmers feedback and participation are given due importance. The delegation leader Dr GK Malik appreciated the contribution of PAU in the famous Indian green revolution. He added that Nepalese students are keen to get practical experience of teaching research and extension education from PAU.
The delegation later visited the Centre for Communication, Languages and Culture, and purchased farm literature brought out by PAU. The delegates were taken around in the Museum of Rural Life of Punjab, and had discussion about various artifacts displayed there.
