Chandigarh, February 11 It may not boast of having the same world-class facilities as the PCA Stadium in Mohali, but the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium is fast catching up.

After organising an ODI last year, the facility will soon have its own hi-tech gymnasium, much to the joy of budding cricketers training at the stadium.

The gym, which will be officially inaugurated on February 14, will have advanced strength-training equipment imported from Italy. The UT Sports Department is running similar facilities at the Sector 42 Sports Complex and the Lake Club.

"Equipment worth Rs 50 lakh has been installed at this gym. It allows training of specific muscles at proper angles. The same equipments are used by England and Australian cricket teams. It will be of a huge benefit for the trainees," says Harish Sharma, the coach at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium.

The Stadium hosted an international one-day match last year played between India and Australia and had impressed the touring Aussies team too. Certainly, with coming up of such hi-tech gym the Stadium has added another feather to its cap.
