New Delhi Reflecting the changed political reality in the new Lok Sabha, RJD chief Lalu Prasad and SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav were on Monday seen sitting together as the House met for its first session.

The two leaders of the Fourth Front were sitting in the front row of the benches meant for the parties supporting the ruling coalition.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi was seen letting bygones be bygones when Lalu Prasad came to take oath as she led her partymen in thumping the desk.

Having lost power, Prasad was certainly not in his elements and was seen giving an occasional sheepish smile.

Prasad's party was the second largest ally of the Congress in the previous House with 27 members, which has now come down to just four.

JD-U leaders Rajiv Ranjan Singh 'Lallan' and Sharad Yadav were seen taking a dig at Prasad noting that the Chair has declared recess after he has taken oath.

Gandhi was seen greeting RJD leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh with great enthusiasm when he took oath.

Members of the Left parties, who used to call the shots in the 14th Lok Sabha, were a scattered lot on Monday.

CPI-M leader Basudeb Acharia was seated in the first row while CPI's Gurudas Dasgupta was seated in the fourth row.

With the focus on the treasury benches, BJP stalwarts L K Advani, Jaswant Singh, Murli Manohar Joshi, Rajnath Singh and Sushma Swaraj were occupying the front row in the opposition side. Their only job today was to greet the new members.

Incidentally, except for Advani all other saffron frontbenchers were members of the Upper House prior to the election.

Corrupt Congress by Radhey Gupta on 03 Jun 2009

Thankyou dear patriot indian, atleast you acknowledge congress is a party of the corrupt. And what better way to complement BJP than saying it brought down corruption in congress. This is reason enough to support BJP.

Youth into the politics by sandeep on 02 Jun 2009

Of course there is need of youth to join into the politics and take the rsponsiblity of making India as developed nation....recently Congress managed to attract the people of India by showing new faces into the squad....however, all of them got the political carrier in heritage and hardly knows about the ground reality....if congress is really intrested in bringing real youth talent to the politics, then they should go to the university level and bring the guys who are working at grass root level to make the party stronger...........unfortunetly these worker who can become real NETA cannot get the chance and end up their political carrier with frustration as big political familieis never let them come into the picture....I have a same suggestion for the 2nd largest Indian political party BJP..........if we have to move forward we have to focus on empowerment of the talented youth rather than giving chance to the young members of big political families........

Deputy Speaker by witan on 01 Jun 2009

BJP should put forward Navjot Singh Siddhu as their candidate for Dy Speaker post. When he gets a chance, he will destroy the "UPA".

End of road for BJP and their hate politics by patriotindian on 01 Jun 2009

BJP started with 2 seat in parliament and because and only because of cast politics initiated by Late VP Singh, and his support to BJP to topple Congress, BJP could make gains. BJP stabbed VP Singh in the back after gaining votes and parliament seats and to keep it intact, BJP started dividing Indians into Hindus and Muslims in the name of Ram. Now Indians have realized the real face of fascist BJP and hope in next parliament elections there tally will drop to < 20 and eventually to zero. However I thank BJP for their short spell in governence which really changed the attitude of Congress to rule better with less corruption.

BJP IS OUT AT PRESENT BUT NOT OUT by A.G. Vijay on 01 Jun 2009

BJP may have lost out this time but not out. With rethink it can bounce back. BJP needs a young leader to lead it under th eguidance of a Senior like LK Advani. NDA should brainstrom and work for next 5 years to strengthen their oganisation by going all out in recruiting pracharaks. BJP has to take a firm decision on whether to go whoel hog with its Hindutva agand or drop it completely. Any stand will give them their lost ground

Low Lallu by Dr. Ram Chander Sharma siot Jammu on 01 Jun 2009

Certainally the forth front leaders were over ambitious and oppertunists. The Indian voters have given them befitting reply. Politicians must behave properally.

FOURTH FRONT by INDIAN on 01 Jun 2009

INSTEAD OF FOURTH FRONT, THEY WOULD HAVE GIVEN THE NAME "SECULAR FRONT" AND GET MORE SECULAR PARTIES WITH THEM. ANYWAY, BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME.
