New technique of hair transplant at DMCH

Ludhiana, February 22 The Department of Dermatology at DMCH has added a new feather in its cap by formally introducing the latest technique of hair transplant. Vice-president of DMCH Managing Society, Amrit Nagpal Gian Chand Dhawan, and secretary of DMCH Managing Society, Prem Kumar Gupta inaugurated the technique.

Among those present on the occasion were Treasurer Satish Sanwalka, managing member Balraj Kumar, Principal Dr. Daljit Singh, Vice- Principal, Dr. Jagdeep Whig,Dean Academics, Dr.S.C.Chopra, Medical Superintendents Dr. Sandeep Puri, Dr. Rajoo Singh Chhina and Dr.B.S.Shah.

Speaking on the topic, Prof & Head of the Department, Dr Alka Dogra said that FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) or Fox Procedure was an advancement over conventional ‘STRIP’ technique. This method is better as it involves no sutures, no visible scarring in the donor area and the results are perfectly natural.

Dr. Aman Dua, assistant professor at the Department of Dermatology has received a formal training from Tel Aviv University, Israel and has also been elected the member of “International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS).”

Dr Dua elaborated that Hair Transplant, (FUE method) was the only permanent, natural way of hair restoration in Androgenetic Alopecia - Male pattern baldness.
