Nikita and Harkerat set up title clash

Chandigarh, January 1 Harkerat and Nikita Sharma will meet in the finals of girls’ under-12 section of the Girls’ under-12 of the IIIrd St Peter’s Open Tennis Tournament being held at St Peter’s School, Sector 37, here today. Harkirat outplayed Naemat 6-0, 6-1 while Nikita Sharma defeated Hassan Dhanova 6-3, 7-5, to storm into the finals. In boys under-12 section, Jatinder moved ahead beating Varundeep Chadha 6-0, while Kundan drubbed Dhruv 6-3, in the pre-quarterfinals.

In the boys’ under-10 quarterfinal matches, Paramveer Singh got the better of Harpreet Singh 6-2 while Abhijit Singh blanked

Varundeep Chadha in a one-si ded encounter 6-0. Over 150 participants are participating in various events of the tournament.

(Under-12, pre-quarter final matches): Jatinder bt Varundeep Chadha 6-0, Kundan bt Dhruv 6-3, Param Pum bt Harpreet Singh 6-2, Inder Bir Singh bt Shraishth 6-2, Uttkarsh Khosla bt Jeremy Ben Thomas 6-4, Raghav Talwar bt Andren Pradeep 6-4, Abijit bt Sanchit Thakur 6-1, Sachin bt Rahul Aggarwal 6-0. (under-14, quarterfinals): Uday Singh Mann bt Pankaj 6-5 (4), Ravisher Sandhu bt Harmeet Singh 6-4, Bhavtaran bt Arshbuland 6-1, Jatinder bt Rajveer 6-3. (Under-18, quarterfinal): Naveen Shankar bt Debvir 8-7 (0), Uday Singh Maan bt Sanjay 8-5, Jayvardhan bt Ramandeep 8-5, Aiman bt Arsh Bulland 6-2. Girls (under-12, semifinal): Harkerat bt Naemat 6-0, 6-1, Nikita Sharma bt Hassan Dhanova 6-3, 7-5. Girls’ under-14, semifinals: 1 Priyanka bt Nandani Sharma 6-1, 6-1. Girls’ u-18, semifinals: 1 Priyanka bt Shivika 6-0, 3-0(conceded), 2 Arshee Khosla bt Ashima 6-3, 7-5.
