Faizabad The fast-track court of Judge S K Tewari on Thursday returned CBI’s application for the remand of Kailash Yadav, an accused in the 2006 murder of Congress leader Pawanraje Nimbalkar. The court told the agency to conduct the probe in accordance with the jail manual.

Two accused from Ambedkarnagar district — Yadav and Chotu Pandey — are wanted for Nimbalkar’s murder in Maharashtra. Pandey is still absconding.

On Monday, Yadav had surrendered in Faizabad district court in connection to an eight-year-old case of attempt to murder and attack on a police party.

On Wednesday, the CBI had approached the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate M K Mishra for Yadav’s remand.

The court had said that the accused had been committed to session trial and the proceedings had to begin in the fast-track court.
