Chennai, February 13: Chennai city police said they would not unnecessarily 'poke into human relationships' during the Valentine's Day on Thursday but at the same time would ensure law and order.

"There won't be any unnecessary poking into human relationships...normal relationships would not be disturbed," Chennai Police Commissioner G Nanchil Kumaran said while replying to queries whether any special measures would be taken for the Valentine's day in the city.

"We would be only enforcing law and order and those violating this alone would be liable for action," he said.

Kumaran also said police were not expecting any problems from right-wing groups who were opposed to Valentines' Day celebrations.

booting out Christian missionaries from India is the best solution by Dr. Ram on 14 Feb 2008

The real reason behind hardline opposition of Valentine's day is due to the presence of Christian missionaries. Christian missionaries promote christian ideologies through Valentine's day and those who oppose cultural and religious invasion caused by the missionaries, vent their anger on the celebration of Valentine's day and then the image of India gets maligned abroad. If missionaries were not involved in converting poor and ignorant Indians, there would not have been any strong opposition of Valentine's day, rather Indians might have integrated it up to some extent into their culture as a response to what Christians have embraced Yoga into their culture. Instead of opposing Valentine's day, booting out Christian missionaries from India is the best solution.

Boot out by Ankur on 14 Feb 2008

I second you opinion about booting out all missionaries and evangelist preachers! Why are people Dr.Joyce...the annoying pretentious woman who is visible on all Christian channels..given visas to come to India? Why do we need such people?

Celebrate Pornography love day by Vidhur on 13 Feb 2008

This is pornographic love day for the one celebrate. Only frustated boys and girls go after this in Bharat. Dogs are frustated for se*x during Shravan-Bhad month, like that our boys and girls become se*x frustated when this day comes. Real love comes from heart and it comes every day. Westerners love are short-lived, they can marry and divorce any day and time. Thats why they need such day under banner of word love. We Bharatiya don't such artifical love day. Try to understand, and not become western slaves.
