President Pervez Musharraf yesterday deferred the execution of Sarabjit fixed for April one by 30 days after the Indian government made a formal appeal for clemency on Wednesday.
Sarabjit was sentenced to death in 1991 for his alleged involvement in four bomb blasts in Lahore and Multan that killed 14 people. His family denies he is a spy as claimed by Pakistan and insists he accidentally strayed into Pakistani territory.

If the release issue is vexing and suspicious, then the evidence incriminating the person should kindly be released for the requesting and aggreaved party, in keeping with good spirit and honest legal scrutiny of duly lawful decisions. This is the least that is expected to prevent false punishment of any innocent under any circumstances.
No need to release any pakistani prisoner nor begging for the release of Sarbajit Singh this should be the policy of the government. Sarabjit Singh was terrorist and convicted by the court of another country and let him pay the price for his crime.
Our government is absolutely right in stating that no Pakistani prisoner will be released by India in exchange of Indian Sarabjit Singh languishing in Pakistani jail. Indian government should be firm and tough while negotiating with Pakistan to avoid any black-mailing by Pakistan.
