NOIDA, February 22 ‘Police Executives’ is what people are starting to talk about in Noida as Uttar Pradesh Police comes up with plans to modernise the forces in five districts bordering Delhi and part of the National Capital Region. The funds worth Rs 40 crore to be allotted by the Centre for this purpose require extensive planning.

And that part has the higher officers worried as they discuss steps to turn the expectation behind the term ‘Police Executive’. The first task at hand is to teach the policemen fair bit of English and ‘develop their personalities’ before the Commonwealth Games 2010.

The officers are now looking for men who have command over English, and possess basic knowledge of computers, across the state.

These and other plans were approved by the Additional Director General of the Uttar Pradesh Police, Sheetal Prasad Srivastava, after a meeting with senior police officers of the Meerut Zone and Noida and Ghaziabad police on Wednesday.

The meeting was held at the office of Senior Superintendent of Police A Sathish Ganesh in Sector-14A and the officers present were Inspector General of Police of Meerut Zone V K Gupta, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Meerut Zone Vijay Kumar and SSPs of Noida and Ghaziabad Sathish Ganesh and Deepak Ratan.
