Noida employees’ strike continues

NOIDA, January 31 The temporary employees of the Noida Authority, who were involved in the violent protests on Wednesday, have decided to continue their tools down protest in the city. The decision was taken after a meeting was held between the leaders and two thousand employees at the Shimla Park in Sector-12 on Thursday. Basic facilities like water supply and sanitation are set to take a hit.

While the administration claims that their demands are being considered, the leaders have decided to continue the strike. Jai Prakash Jarcha, district head of the Safai Mazdoor Congress said, “We have no faith in the administration.”

The demands:

* Residential plots for all the employees in Sector-122
* New bank accounts for all
* PF and bonus facilities
* Compensation of Rs 5 lakh in case of an employee’s death
* Recruiting a family member of a dead employee on 50 per cent salary hike
* Compensation for PF and medical facilities from 1988 onwards
* Cases against the protesting employees be withdrawn and all will be posted back to their respective posts
