NOIDA, February 11 The Noida police on Monday arrested two men for the murder of the three transporters on Wednesday in the Kasna shootout case. According to the police, the accused, Teji and Virendra, were involved in the shootout. The police also recovered the country-made pistols used in the murder.

Both the men have been sent to 14 days’ judicial custody. The police claim that the case has been solved even though Uttar Pradesh minister Ved Ram Bhati and his son Ravinder are still at large.

According to sources, the accused are owners of Nagar Transport Company in the Kasna Industrial area and had plotted the murder of the Paradise Company owners Shahabuddin and Yousuf with Ravinder.

SSP A Sathish Ganesh said, “It is clear that monetary matters and competition for business in the area led to the shootout.”

The motive for the murder was that the company of the accused was facing losses because the Allahabad High Court had ordered transport facilities in favour of the Paradise Company. Following the losses, they had decided to end ‘the game’ by killing the two along with Suresh, the driver of the car in which the owners were travelling.

Both Teji and Vijendra are residents of village Imalia near Kasna Industrial Area, where the murder was plotted.

After BJP, Rashtriya Lok Dal and Samajwadi Party, the Congress Party’s wing in the region has now demanded a CBI inquiry into the shootout case. Head of the Congress in the state, Rita Bahuguna, met the families of the deceased on Monday and assured them the matter will be taken up with the Minority Commission too.

Talking to the media, Bahuguna said, “Two young aspirants from the Minority community were threatened and every attempt was made to stop them from doing well. A ransom was demanded and when opposed, the minister’s associates killed them.”

Bahuguna said the seniors in the party are ready to protest on the roads if swift action is not taken. “A CBI inquiry is necessary to make sure the investigations are independent of political pressure and we will also send in a request to the Prime Minister in this regard,” said Bahuguna.
