Panchkula, February 20

The residents of ward 3 face numerous problems like parking chaos at the sector market and non-functional streetlights. Area residents also complain about the bad condition of roads, streetlights and poor sanitation facilities in their ward. Many area residents feel that a young and dynamic candidate would stand a better chance to win the election than the incumbent councillor.

Chanderbhan Goyal , the BJP councillor will not contest the polls from the ward this time. Instead, his wife Chanderkanta Goyal would be a candidate. She assured the area residents that infrastructure projects would be completed and steps will be taken to improve the condition of roads, if she was elected.

Complaints and expectations

Jaspal Singh, a resident of Sector 7, said, “There were many promises made by the councillor. However, he has not fulfilled any of them. Streetlights have not been functioning for almost a year. The crime rate in the ward has also gone up. ” Singh said that the councillor had made no arrangements for solving the parking problem in the sector market. He added, “The parking situation is very bad especially in the market.”

T N Kakkar, an area resident said, “The menace of stray cattle at night is a cause of concern.”

Sunita Chauhan, another resident, said parks must be developed soon. She said, “The councillor has to put in adequate efforts.”

Subhash Bansal, an area resident, said the residents were not satisfied with the performance of the current councillor. “The poor condition of roads, streetlights, sanitation facilities have forced residents to vote for a change in the upcoming MC elections,” said Bansal.
