Prabhash Joshi contributed to Hindi Journalism sincerity and maturity by Madan Gopal Sharma on 06 Nov 2009

Prabhash Joshi gave sincerity and maturity to Hindi Journalism. With Jansatta he presented to Hindi readers a paper that competed with most sincere journalism world-over. His passion for cricket, his analysis of current affairs and comments in 'Kagad Kare' all together presented a combination par-excellence. As a young student I was influenced with his style and sincerity. Off-course it gave occasions where I could not agree with all what he wrote but nevertheless it was a big influence on my analytical abilities. He is like a light-house who will guide any sincere journalist for generations to come. My sincere tributes to him. best regards,

Prabhashji changed the face of Hindi media by Vidya Bhushan Rawat on 06 Nov 2009

It is difficult to believe that Prabhash Joshi passed away. Whether you agreed with him or not you never ignored his sincerity to the issue. He was a doyen who created a new language for the media. he brought media to the people and continuously raised the people's issues through Jansatta. He never believed in the business nitty gritties of the management as Jansatta despite the best Hindi newspaper, remained a thoroughly marginalised newspaper like Indian Express. Unlike Indian Express, which changed it tones to the corporate interest, Jansatta was always the voice of the people. Prabhash Joshi gave it the teeth it required to fight the corruption and he followed the great legacy of Ramnath Goenka. His language was that of the masses and he desanskritised the laguage and used local idioms in the media. we all will remember his personalised writings about politics and cricket. He was die hard Sachin fan and perhaps felt shocked on India's defeat. It is a great loss.

He was the greatest Hindi journalist by Hitendra Patel on 06 Nov 2009

No words can describe the loss of this great journalist. He he has been delivering lectures on Hind Swaraj these days. He would be remembered as the greatest Hindi journalist of his genenration and a great traditional Indian soul. He died after hours of Sachin's great century may have some links with his death. We deeply mourn his demise.

He was the best Hindi journalist around by Manish Gaur on 06 Nov 2009

I offer my heartfelt condolences to his family. I grew up reading Prabhash Joshi. His insights on a variety of topics - from politics to cricket was always delightful. I would eagerly await his weekly column - Kagad Kare in the newspaper. His writings are an inseparable part of my growing up days and have shaped my learning. May his soul rest in peace and god give his family the strength to bear this loss.

Remembering Joshiji by nisheeth gautam on 06 Nov 2009

It is a personal great loss to me though i never met him. i have grown up reading his column. we use to wait for sunday jansatta to read his Kaagad kaare. He made a huge impact on my thoughts about politics, cricket and tennis spescially. I am shattered to know that now onwards KAAGAD KAAREwont be there any more on the left side of Jansatta sunday editorial. Bhenji n his mother would be in profound grief. Though he was one of the last true soldiers of JP and Gandhi. I am afraid that yesterday's match of India vs Australia should have taken a toll on his heart. But also the kind of ardent cricket fan he was, he took his last breath only after seeing one of the finest innings of Sachin. We, all in the family, will miss him badly as the shining star of Hindi journalism and Jansatta specially is gone. I hope Om Thanvi will continue to follow the path Joshiji had taken and replace KAAGAD KAARE with something which, if not better, atleast as honest as Joshiji' voice was. With proforund Grief

He was a highly respected person, known for his cool and fearless analysis.

Tribute by Ramesh on 06 Nov 2009

In the death of Prabhash Joshi India and particularly Hindi Journalism has lost one of the innovative, dedicated and most effective voice of Hindi journalism. I still emember the day when Joshi appealed to his readers to read Jansatta by sharing the paper with others as the press has reached its capacity to print . It was perhaps for the first time in the history of hindi journalism that such an appeal had appeared in a newspaper. With heavy heart I am offer my heartfelt condolances.
