The selectors last month had announced 30 probables and pruned the list on Monday.
Among those who could not make it to the final 15 are wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik, Tamil Nadu opener M Vijay, Mumbai trio of Ajinkya Rahane, Dhawal Kulkarni and Abhishek Nayar, Tamil Nadu batsman S Badrinath, Delhi batsman Virat Kohli, Bengal duo of Manoj Tiwary and Wriddhiman Saha, Haryana leggie Amit Mishra, Tamil Nadu pacer L Balaji and Madhya Pradesh stumper Naman Ojha.
Tamil Nadu off-spinner R Ashwin, who was named back-up for Harbhajan Singh, also failed to survive the pruning exercise.
Squad: M S Dhoni (c), Virender Sehwag (v-c), Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Yusuf Pathan, Rohit Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma, Praveen Kumar, RP Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Pragyan Ojha and Irfan Pathan.

Who's gonna be the backup wicketkeeper? Dhoni is the captain and the wicketkeeper, but no one as backup for him?
Laying hands on the trophy should not be difficult to our supremely talented 15-member squad.
I think uthappa needs to work more on his game...he's been out of sorts for the last one and half years. His two recent knocks in IPL were not very convincing. I think Dinesh Karthick should have been there in the team with his performances in IPL so far. BUT one needs to be too good to be in this Indian side...lets wish them all the best!!
Good luck to our boys under the hero M.S.Dhoni. He will do his level best.
Here is a list of players, who will be playing in next month's World Cup. RP Singh and surprisingly even Irfan Pathan is in. I dont think there are other surprises. Good Luck to India.

Uttappa should not be ruled out.It affects the team batting line up. Wish this team to retain the title.
Nothing any amazing decision from selector.But Alas! they sideaway Uthappa.And Kamran Also would be a good asset in T/T team.Wish both of them on next selection
Robin Uttapa was and is the better choice than R.Sharma andP. Kumar. Selectors, you can wave Goodbye to the Cup!!

Very good selection but very strange uttappa has been left out
