Looking for a global perspective? Check this out

First few days of the summer hols are what we call pure couch surfin’. But what do you do on the eleventh day? “You get out of the house and pack your bags and explore the world,” Sahil Dewan, vice president communications & information management, AIESEC Chandigarh, is all set to offer some of the best internship programs overseas his organisation is known for globally.

“Well, the scenario is changing. One needs to get a global perspective in his/her life rather than just restricting to the local base,” feels Sahil, who, through AIESEC, is out with the Global Internship Program under which you can go for an international internship experience in one of the 100 plus countries where AIESEC is present. The internship period varies from two months to one and a half year. “You can opt for an internship in diverse fields like business administration, marketing, arts, technology, entrepreneurship, education/teaching, development internship. It is a great way of gaining knowledge and experiencing a cultural exchange,” he adds.

Says Tushar Bhatnagar, VP, Outgoing Internships, “The Work Abroad Program offered by AIESEC Chandigarh is the most practical way for today’s youth to spend quality time during their vacation. It not only helps one to move out of the local comfort zone and enter the wider global environment but also provides a platform for them to gain an international experience before they plunge into the professional world.”

“People between the age group of 18 to 35 are eligible for an internship programme. Every year, about 5000 people go for internships globally. Besides students going from here, there are international students/interns who come down to Chandigarh to work in various partnering organizations (Companies/NGO’s/S chools) of AIESEC in Chandigarh,” tells Sahil.
