Jammu As investigations progress into the cross border narcotics smugglers racket operating in Jammu and Kashmir, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Jammu picked up another man for questioning from Kathua.

This, official sources say, followed revelations made by a 55-year-old Mubarak Ali, who was arrested with one kg of heroine from the Jammu-Pathankote national highway near Samba a few days ago. The identity of the smugglers arrested from Kathua is being withheld by NCB officials on the plea that it will hamper further investigations into the case.

Sources, however, say that he has disclosed the names of some other smugglers and as such, more arrests are likely in next few days. He is reported to be a close relative of kingpin of the gang and he can provide vital information leading to his arrest.

Meanwhile, the police conducted raids at several places in Samba and Kathua to arrest the kingpin of the racket and its other members, but they were found absconding following the arrest of Mubarak Ali.
