The injured, Punni (20) and Suman (10) received minor burn injuries and were admitted to the Civil Hospital for treatment.
According to police, the blast took place at around 1 pm near Hauda Pond in Kakori.
A K Singh, Station Officer, Kakori said, A local, Rafiq, had recently received a license to manufacture and sell crackers. According to the norms, a temporary manufacturing unit should be set up at a safe distance from residential areas. Keeping this in view, Rafiq made a temporary hut near the pond in the outskirts of the locality. He added, On Monday, Punni, Suman and Sunil were assisting Rafiq in manufacturing crackers outside the hut. After sometime, Sunil went inside the hut to keep some crackers. Suddenly an explosion occurred killing him on the spot.
A named FIR under Section 304 of the IPC, 19B Explosive Act and Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, 1976 was registered against Rafiq, who had fled the area. Meanwhile, the injured were released later in the evening.
