Ludhiana, January 8 A phone call claiming that a bomb was planted at the MD Public School, Kakowal Road, turned out to be hoax on Tuesday. .

Principal Shashi Dhingra called the police control room around 1.30 pm and informed that somebody claiming to be a terrorist said a bomb was planted on the school premises.

She added that the caller hung up when she asked him to reveal his identity.

The police searched the school campus but could not find anything suspicious. “We searched the place and did not find anything. Since the call was made on the school’s landline, the number could not be traced. We will ask all the schools to install caller ID facility so that such calls get registered,” said Gurbans Singh Bains, SHO, Basti Jodhewal.
