London R&B star Beyonce and her rapper husband Jay-Z have chosen celebrity TV host Oprah Winfrey to be the godmother of their daughter Blue Ivy.

The new parents have been carefully considering who to entrust with taking charge of the spiritual guidance of their 19-day-old daughter and chose the media mogul along with the Jay-Z's best friend Tyran 'Ty Ty' Smith, reported Daily Mail online.

The couple wanted their daughter's godparents to be people who were not already in their immediate family.

Jay-Z recently threw an 'over the top' party at his New York City nightclub 40/40 to celebrate Blue Ivy's birth.

The pair are said to be already considering schools to send the child to when she reaches the right age.
