Kolkata, April 11: If vanishing of the Taj Mahal and a long-distance train took your breath away, magician P C Sorcar Jr next line-up may leave you stunned - cycling on deep water.

The feat has already been enacted for a private TV channel, though on a small scale. But the famous magician and his daughter Maneka will soon perform it before a larger audience and on a larger canvas.

In fact, Sorcar said, the whole thing was intended to be kept under wraps, but as they rehearsed the exercise a TV channel got wind and shot it with a video camera and aired it.

"We read about our sages walking on river, but usually we take it merely as fantasy. However, it struck me deep and I kept discussing the whole thing with Maneka, now a magician on her own right, as we exchanged notes to make it possible."

Sorcar said that any type of bi-cycle would do for the trick and on any type of water body - be it lake, river or even sea.

"But the water should be placid like that of the Arabian sea and not choppy like that of the Bay of Bengal. We also have to take into account the weather condition as a gale will make the water turbulent."

He said that keeping this in mind he would settle the venue and time soon.

The magician duo, who had been working on the idea for a long time, said the whole thing hinged to some elementary laws of physics as magic is nothing but science where the sense of unreal is recreated.
