Karachi, March 26: The Pakistan Cricket Board's disciplinary committee is all set to give an extra week to pacer Shoaib Akhtar and leg-spinner Danish Kaneria for responding to charges of misconduct against them.

PCB chairman Nasim Ashraf said the committee wants to give them a fair hearing.

PCB Governing Board member Munir Hafeez said the committee was not in a hurry to reach a decision.

"No ex-parte decision will be given against them. Even if it takes an extra week but we would like to hear out both players before reaching a decision," Hafeez also a senior bureaucrat said.

The Governing body of the PCB last week authorised the committee to take a decision on the charges made against the two bowlers of violating some clauses of the players' code of conduct.

Shoaib also faces charges of spoiling dressing room atmosphere of the Federal Areas team he captained in the Pentangular Cup tournament on the basis of a report made by the team's manager and coach.

The board has charged both players with speaking out publicly against the policies of the board on the basis of their commitments in the code of conduct.

Hafeez said the committee has gone through the documents provided by the board and now wanted to talk to the players.

"We want to hear what they have to say. This issue might take another two weeks to decide," he said.
