New Delhi, May 5: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday hailed the new government of Pakistan, saying it had “begun very well” but made it clear that he had no intention of undertaking a visit there in the immediate future.

“Let them (new Pakistan government) settle down,” Singh told reporters here when asked when he planned to travel to Pakistan in response to a long-pending invitation.

The Prime Minister has been invited to Pakistan by President Pervez Musharraf which he has accepted but no decision has so far been taken on the timing of the visit.

Noting that the new coalition government of Pakistan had “begun very well”, Singh noted that “despite difficulties, they have shown great statesmanship in tackling their problems.” “We wish them well,” the Prime Minister said after the Civil Investiture Ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
