Chandigarh, July 12: The Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) said on Saturday that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should have consulted Sikhs on the India-US nuclear deal before seeking their support on the sensitive issue.

"The Sikh Prime Minister of India has never consulted us (the community) on this issue. Then, how can we support him?" SAD (Amritsar) chief Simarnjit Singh Mann told reporters in Chandigarh.

Asked what was his party's stand on the nuclear deal, he said "we do not mind the deal if India denuclearises, signs NPT and CTBT and puts all its reactors under IAEA controls."
