New Delhi Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday underwent angiography as part of a series of heart-related tests at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

The 76-year-old Prime Minister "has undergone angiography", AIIMS Medical Superintendent Dr D K Sharma said.

"We cannot comment on any surgical procedure but the Prime Minister did undergo angiography," Dr K S Reddy, personal physician to the Prime Minister, who is heading a multi-disciplinary team, said.

Singh, who had earlier undergone a by-pass surgery, had complained of some chest pain after which a decision to carry out the tests was taken, according to hospital sources.

The Prime Minister's office in a statement said Singh had undergone "diagnostic evaluation" and is likely to be discharged tonight.

"Treatment procedures which have been recommended would be undertaken after a few days. During this period, the Prime Minister would resume his normal duties," it said.

Singh had visited AIIMS yesterday for an "overall medical checkup," and had returned to his residence, an official statement had said.

Dear PM,do not stress your mind with your concern for terrorists and their families. They are well protected by many more patrons in your party.I know there will be plenty of administrative issues that causes stress and tension.Dont worry you are anyway not doing any thinking.Your madam will tell you what to do and what not.But when the time comes to answer for our deeds send in Manish Tiwari or Singhvi. They will take of the public outcry.Pls keep a calm mind and protect your health. In the event of you needing any expensive medical support, the minorities will spend for you because they have the first right towards the country's wealth and they will never ignore you. wish you all the very best

PM take care! we need you by oldindian on 21 Jan 2009

We (me and my family) pray dear prime minister for your good health. We are tolerating all the nonsense that is going on in the country, in the hope that with you at the helm there is still chance for this country to live its potential. You along with Atal behari vajpayee are two of the kind that this country has been missing for very long. With all the limitation of party politics you have done the best for our country. With you at the helm there is still room for hope that fight against various evils will be staged - of course with lots of interference from your political peers and sonia amma - and therefore the fight not be full hearted but it will be and that itself is big deal for us ordinary citizens. May god give you the strength and good health to serve the country longer.
