PMPML admn wakes up, to install bottom-guards

Pune, March 17 Waking up after a life is lost, the administration of the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has now decided to make its buses “safer on roads.” The PMPML has decided to instal bottom-guards and the tail-lamp indicators and put horns in place in all its buses before May 1.

In a press release issued by PMPML general manager S B Patil said, ‘Following the death of Atharva Dongare last week, we have decided to make long-term amends in the system. We have taken a serious note of the accidents in which PMPML buses were involved. Therefore, we have decided install bottom-guards, indicators and horns. “

The PMPML administration has also decided to monitor the buses on the roads and chowks. It will keep a tab on drivers to see whether they follow the traffic rules.

The PMPML had recently appealed to citizens to spot an erring bus at a traffic signal and win Rs 100 prize.
