Nirala who visited the station in the morning and remained there for over two hours during which he also spoke to the railway officials. He expressed concern over insanitary conditions at the railway station and ordered that cleanliness be maintained.
Some passengers alleged that the railway officials often browbeat the poor passengers to shell out bribes, following which he asked the station superintendent to investigate the complaint. Station superintendent Ashok Singh Salaria said that they had not received any such complain earlier or action would have been taken against erring officials. Replying to a complaint regarding eatables being sold at the station and in the trains at higher prices, Nirala said that the matter would be taken up in the railway board meeting.
