The officers have been asked to file their replies by February 25, 2008 explaining as to what steps are being taken to tackle the problem highlighted in the news item.

The Commission, after going through the content of the news item, sent a copy of its order seeking the officials’ report and also marked copies to Patiala Deputy Commissioner and Secretary, Punjab Pollution Control Board.
Over half a dozen posh colonies in the city including areas near Lehal Colony, Sewak Colony, Punjabi Bagh, Gian Colony, Kishore Colony, Sant Nagar, Mansahia Colony, are getting contaminated water. The MC has spent crores in covering the nullah in the city to isolate contaminated water.
