PTTI union threatens to hold protest

Kolkata, February 16 The West Bengal Primary Teachers Training Students’ Union (WBPTTSU) said it will hold a protest if the state government did not settle the issue of primary teachers training institutes (PTTIs) in the state. “We may even resort to self-immolation,” said Pintu Parui, WBPTTSU spokesperson at a press conference on Saturday, The Chhatra Bloc, the Forward Bloc’s students’ wing, will also mount pressure on the state government to resolve the issue immediately, said Arun De, a Bloc member. The Bloc will organise a protest rally in front of Writers’ Building on February 17.
