Chandigarh, February 13 The Panjab University Student Council organised a pre-Valentine’s Day bash at the Student Centre on Wednesday. A dance party was organised on the occasion.

The students also wrote messages on a message board displayed at the center. “It’s just a way to get together and enjoy. Since we could not get permission to host a party on the 14th, we are celebrating today”, said Parminder Jaiswal, president of the PU student council.

A large number of students participated in the bash. Strict security measures were taken to prevent instances of eve teasing. “We feel safe and it’s great to celebrate the occasion with friends”, said Karanbir Kaur, a psychology student.

“It’s a break from the daily routine. A celebration within the campus is a great idea”, said Meenu Chopra, a Geography department student.
