PU placement cell to organise workshop on soft skills from today

Chandigarh, February 29 The Central Placement Cell, Panjab University, will organise a workshop on soft skills development from March 1 to 3.

The workshop aims to train students in developing skills such as preparing resume, facing interviews and group discussions, developing art of speaking in public and honing their writing skills.

Around 30 students from different departments of the university will be participating in the workshop. Experts from various fields including English, psychology, business management, will be addressing the students.

On the first day of the workshop, Dr Pushpinder Sayal from the Department of English, will lecture the participants on effective communication and public speaking.

The next two days will include talks on leadership qualities, discussions on preparation for personal interviews and group discussion as well as resume writing.

Director of the placement cell Prof Dinesh K Gupta said the training would give the students a competitive edge while applying for jobs.

It is for the first time that the cell has taken the initiative.
