Chandigarh, March 9 Panjab University is planning to start a tatkal service for speedy issuance of certificates to students.

Students can avail this scheme for degrees as well as migration certificates.

The certificates will be made available in a matter of three hours by submitting a fee.

It has also been proposed that the time given for submitting re-evaluation applications be extended.

At present, students can apply for re-evaluation within 10 days of issuance of the marksheet.

The time will be extended to a month but the fees will be more than what is normally charged.

Vice-Chancellor Professor R C Sobti has set up a committee to work out the details of the schemes.

The facilities will be made available from the next session.

The details of the fees to be charged for both the schemes will be finalised by the committee.

Said the V-C, “Students have been protesting against fee hikes for quite some time now. We have decided that instead of increasing the fees, we will start different schemes for generating funds. These two schemes will also benefit students”.

“This is for the first time that the tatkal service is being introduced in the university. It will require additional infrastructure which we will provide. The service will help students who need their certificates in an emergency,” said Professor Sobti.ANJAB University is planning to start a tatkal service for speedy issuance of certificates to students.
