New Delhi, April 2: Leander Paes has been named playing captain of the Davis Cup team for India’s second round tie against Japan in the Asia/Oceania Zone Group 1 to be held in New Delhi from April 11.

The players list, announced by the All India Tennis Association on Wednesday, also has Mahesh Bhupathi, Prakash Amritraj and Rohan Bopanna.

Eiji Takeuchi will lead the Japan team, which also has Kei Nishikori, Go Soeda, Takao Suzuki and Satoshi Wabuchi.

It will be a stern test for the Indians after the revolt against Paes by the trio of Bhupathi, Amritraj and Bopanna left a bad taste.

The three players have agreed to play under Paes, but only for the Japan tie.
