Ludhiana, March 23 Sunday kept most of the Ludhiana residents busy as they made unsuccessful attempts to get rid of those colour stains.

While home remedies came in handy for some, there were others who thought it best to pay a visit to the doctor. After all, Monday is going to be just another working day after the extended Holi weekend.

Says Anita Aggarwal, a resident of Dugri, “I can’t seem to get rid of the stains on my back and hands. I have to go to work tomorrow. I have tried all possible remedies. Though my friends had assured me that they were using herbal colours, I don’t think the colours were of good quality”.

Ritesh Sharma, a resident of Model Town Extension, says he spent nearly four hours to get rid of the Holi stains, but didn’t meet with any success.

Says Dinesh Sachdeva, a resident of Urban Vihar, “My friends used colours very liberally on my hair. Even after a number of washes, the colour refuses to go. I think it will take a few days for things to get back to normal”.

Says Dr Ravinder Vatsyan, “Since morning three people have visited my clinic. Two complained of skin allergy and the third suffered from respiratory spasm caused by dry colours. All these patients told me that they had used only herbal colours. I think the colours were of dubious quality”.

But residents like Rupinder Kaur, a resident of Housefed flats, had got everything planned in advance. “I had deliberately delayed my visit to the beauty parlour because I knew I would have to go after Holi. This is the ideal time to get a facial done,” she says.

But Rupinder, too, is trying to free her new dress of stains.
