Perth, January 18: Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has urged the Australian team to continue their tour of Pakistan despite another bomb attack killing at least 10 people this week.

Akram said the country would be safe for the cricketers as sportspersons were not the targets of the terrorist attacks.

"Australia should play in Pakistan. They will be safe there and there will be so much security around them. It is not sporting figures who are being targeted," he said.

Australia is due to play three Tests, five one-day internationals and a Twenty20 match in Pakistan in March-April.

"I think everything will be fine after the elections. Things will settle down," the fast bowling great said," he was quoted as saying by the Courier Mail.

Australia's security delegation will complete a pre-tour inspection of Pakistan before the team leaves, but there may be little time to do that now that the national elections have been rescheduled to late February.

Has Mr Akram got any connections?

Akram seems to be an authority on terrorist psyche. It would be better for all, if he gives the kind of people targetted by them.
