Sri Lanka reach home to take on India in five ODIs and a Twenty20 game from January 29 before returning to Pakistan to play two Tests from February 17.

Jayawardene, who led his side to a 129 runs rout of Pakistan in the second one-dayer yesterday, was asked about his team's chances against India in the coming series.

"Look I don't think that far ahead. Right now for us this series demands our complete focus and we are looking ahead only as far as the third match and will try to win it and the series," he said.

"India, no doubt, is a very good side and they have done well recently. We played them last year at home and it was a good challenge for us," he said.

Jayawardene pointed out that Sri Lanka had won the Tests against India and lost the one-day rubber narrowly by 2-3. "So it should be a good series and contest between both sides but we will concentrate on them when we finish here," he said.

Sri Lanka had beaten Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Co. in the Asia Cup final in Karachi last June before India went to the emerald island.

Jayawardene said he was extremely happy with the way his players had bounced back from their defeat in the first one-dayer against Pakistan.

"I am happy because the boys showed lot of character and we did everything right on the field. It was a good all round performance from us which is needed to beat a good side like Pakistan."

He said the result showed that Sri Lanka had a good pace and spin attack but they needed enough runs on the board to defend.

"We made a good total in the second match (290) and we always were confident we could defend it. Once we got the early wickets I think it opened up their (Pakistan's) innings and we never let the pressure down," he said.

Sri Lanka revise itinerary for India visit

Sri Lanka have revised the itinerary for their home one-day series against India starting later this month, the Indian board said on Thursday.

Four of the five ODIs will now be played in Colombo with the second and third games deferred by a day.

The hastily arranged series fills the gap left by India's cancelled tour to Pakistan in the aftermath of militant attacks in Mumbai last November.

Revised itinerary:

Jan 28 - First ODI at Dambulla

Jan 31 - Second ODI at RPICS, Colombo (d/n)

Feb 3 - Third ODI at RPICS, Colombo (d/n)

Feb 5 - Fourth ODI at RPICS, Colombo (d/n)
