Palampur varsity prof in five-yr plan group

Dharamshala, January 22 Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vidyalaya, Palampur, which has been doing a remarkable job in various fields of agriculture, has added another feather in its cap.

One of its senior teachers, Dr H.R. Sharma, a professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics of the university, has been nominated as a member of the sub-group on land issues set up by the Planning Commission of India for the 11th Five Year Plan.

He was nominated to the sub-group in recognition of his contribution to the field of agriculture. He is one of the four members of the sub-group.

Apart from this, Dr Sharma has also been nominated as a member of the sub-group on agricultural indebtedness for northern region by the expert group on agricultural indebtedness of the Union government.

Dr H.R. Sharma has also been awarded Anamitra Shah Prize by the Indian Society of Agricultural Economics (ISAE), Mumbai.
