The new facilities to be introduced include two LCD players, special counters for the payment of electricity bills, water bills and availability of mineral water at the centre.
“The sole aim behind adding various new features to the E-disha is to make the overall experience of the visitors a pleasurable one. Although there has been a lot of improvement in the quality of services with the computerisation of E-disha and making the centre centrally air-conditioned, now, there will be additional facilities that would make it more convenient,” said VK Dahiya, SDM, Panchkula.
Billing facility
Soon, a special counter at the centre will be started where residents will be able to deposit their electricity, water and telephone bills. “We are in the process of certain arrangements with banks and soon we will implement the system at E-disha,” said an official at the center.
According to another official, the new billing system was long overdue and the residents wanted this facility at the centre.
“In a meeting with the Panchkula DC it was decided that the special counter will be opened, for which process has already begun,” said SDM. VK Dahiya
LCD players
Another feature that the SDM office is planning to introduce at E-disha is the installation of two LCD players, for which they have tied up with a private company. “The company will install two LCD players so that the visitors waiting for their turn at the centre do not get bored. The company will also play a 15-minute driving training programme to acquaint them with techniques of safe driving,” said Dahiya.
Seven-day police verification
Till date, police verification for registration of vehicles was done on just two days of the week (Monday and Tuesday) from 9 am to 12 pm.
As per the demands of the city residents, the police verification of vehicles will now be done on all seven days till 2 pm, instead of 12 pm,” said Dahiya.
He further added that talks with the police department are going on in this regard and the system will be started soon.
Mineral water supply
“Another thing we plan to introduce during summers is the provision of mineral water by installing the Reverse Osmosis (RO) system,” said Dahiya.
