Panchkula MC passes Rs 35-crore budget

Panchkula, February 8 A budget to the tune of Rs 35.15 crore was passed during the special house meeting of the Municipal Council held at MC office in Sector 4, Panchkula today. The meeting that was attended by 26 out of the 34 elected as well as the nominated councilors, headed by Seema Chaudhary, president, municipal council.

Talking to Newsline, MC Executive officer OP Sihag said, “The budget for the year 2008-09 was passed by the House in a special meeting today. The works for which the amount would be spent would include developmental works, establishment related, contingency and miscellaneous. Last year, a budget of Rs 29.25 crore had been passed, out of which some amount was left which has been added to this year’s budget.” It was added that the work to repair roads that was temporarily stopped due to the rains would be resumed soon.
